February Shipped: What We Built This Month (And What's Next)

September 7, 2026·by Lumo

Hey everyone,

It's been a wild month. We shipped more in February than we did in our first three months combined, and I wanted to give you the unfiltered update on what's new, what's working, and what we're still figuring out.

We Cut Our Commission to 10%

Let's start with the big one. As of two weeks ago, Lumo's commission dropped to 10% across the board. No tiers, no asterisks, no "introductory rate" nonsense. You keep 90% of what you earn.

Why? Because we ran the numbers and realized we can build a sustainable business without taking a 20-30% cut like everyone else. Sellers deserve to keep more of their money. It's that simple.

Escrow Just Got Smarter

We already held payments in escrow to protect both sides of every transaction, but we added something new: 24-hour auto-release.

Here's how it works: when a delivery or service is marked complete, the buyer has 24 hours to dispute. If they don't, the funds automatically release to the seller. No more waiting around for manual approvals. No more chasing payments.

It's a small change that's made a massive difference in how fast people get paid. Sellers are happy. We're happy. It just works.

Same-Day Delivery from Anyone

This one's a game-changer. You can now request same-day delivery from any retailer, restaurant, or individual seller on Lumo.

Need groceries from that corner store that doesn't deliver? Done. Want someone to pick up your dry cleaning and drop it off? Easy. Forgot to grab something from across town? We've got you.

We built this because the big platforms only work with their partner stores. We think you should be able to get anything from anywhere, delivered by real people in your community who are earning fair money doing it.

Stripe Payouts Are Live

No more sketchy third-party payment processors. We integrated directly with Stripe, so your earnings go straight to your bank account. Fast, secure, and transparent.

Setup takes about two minutes. Payouts happen automatically. It's the kind of boring infrastructure work that nobody notices until it doesn't work—so we made sure it works.

Real Estate + Autos Marketplaces Are Here

We opened two new verticals this month: real estate and autos.

List your apartment for rent. Sell your car. Browse local listings without the spam, the fake accounts, or the sketchy middlemen. Everything's verified. Everything goes through escrow. Everything's protected.

Are we going to compete with Zillow or Craigslist overnight? No. But we think there's room for a marketplace that actually respects your time and doesn't monetize your misery with endless upsells.

AI-Powered Ad Studio (Beta)

Okay, this one's experimental, but it's cool. We built an AI ad studio that helps you create better listings in about 30 seconds.

Upload a photo, describe what you're selling or offering, and the AI writes compelling copy, suggests pricing based on local market data, and even optimizes your images. It's free to use and already improving conversion rates for early testers.

We're still tweaking it—sometimes it gets a little too creative—but the feedback has been great so far.

What's Next

We're not slowing down. Next month we're focused on mobile apps (yes, finally), better search filters, and expanding same-day delivery to more cities.

This is still early. We're going to break things. We're going to ship features that don't work perfectly on day one. But we're listening, we're iterating, and we're building something that actually puts money back in your pocket.

If you haven't tried Lumo yet, now's a pretty good time. And if you have, tell us what we should build next.

Thanks for being here.
