What We Shipped This Month (And What's Coming Next)

July 14, 2026·by Lumo

Hey everyone,

We usually don't do these monthly wrap-ups, but March was big enough that it felt wrong not to say something.

So here's what's new on Lumo, why we built it, and where we're headed.

We Cut Our Commission to 10%

Let's start with the obvious one. As of March 1st, our platform commission dropped from 15% to 10% across all categories—deliveries, gigs, services, everything.

Why? Because we can. Our infrastructure costs are finally where we want them, and frankly, we think 10% is fair. You do the work. You should keep more of the money.

For context: most platforms are still hovering around 20–30%. We're not interested in that game.

Escrow + 24-Hour Auto-Release

Payment protection was always part of the plan, but we wanted to get it right. Now, every transaction on Lumo goes through escrow by default.

Here's how it works: buyers pay upfront, funds are held securely, and once the service is delivered (or the item arrives), the money auto-releases to the seller after 24 hours—unless there's a dispute.

No more chasing payments. No more "I'll pay you later." Just clean, predictable cash flow.

Sellers get peace of mind. Buyers get protection. Everyone wins.

Same-Day Delivery from Anyone

This one's been our most-requested feature since launch. You can now offer same-day delivery for anything—restaurant orders, retail pickups, personal items, you name it.

Whether you're a restaurant without your own drivers, a boutique that wants to compete with Amazon speed, or just someone selling a couch on marketplace, same-day is now an option.

We're matching buyers with local couriers in real time. It's fast, it's flexible, and it works.

Stripe Payouts Go Live

Banking integration is boring to talk about but huge for anyone actually earning on the platform. We now support direct bank payouts via Stripe.

That means your earnings hit your account faster—usually within 1–2 business days. No third-party services. No weird delays. Just straightforward deposits.

Two New Marketplaces: Real Estate + Autos

We soft-launched Real Estate and Autos marketplaces this month, and early traction has been better than expected.

Real estate agents, FSBO sellers, landlords—they're listing properties. Car dealers and private sellers are posting vehicles. Both categories were natural extensions of what Lumo already does: connect local buyers and sellers with zero hassle.

We're still iterating on features (virtual tours, financing options, inspection scheduling), but the foundation is there.

AI-Powered Ad Studio (Beta)

Okay, this one's still rough around the edges, but we're excited about it.

Our new AI Ad Studio helps you generate listing photos, write descriptions, and even create simple promotional graphics—all inside the platform. You upload a photo of your product or service, tell the AI what you're selling, and it handles the rest.

It's in beta, so it's free for now. We're learning what works and what doesn't. If you try it, let us know.

What's Next

We're not done. Next month we're rolling out instant booking for services (so buyers can reserve time slots without back-and-forth messaging) and subscription plans for power sellers who want lower fees and premium placement.

Also working on tighter mobile app performance and better search filters. The boring stuff that makes everything smoother.

Thanks for building with us. Seriously. Lumo only works because you're here—listing, delivering, buying, selling, creating.

If you haven't checked out the platform in a while, now's a good time to poke around. And if you've been on the fence about listing a service or item, this month's updates might just tip the scales.
