What's New at Lumo: March Shipped Fast

July 31, 2026·by Lumo

We've Been Busy

March was one of those months where the team barely looked up from their keyboards. We shipped a bunch of stuff we've been wanting to build for a while, and honestly, some of it surprised even us with how quickly people adopted it.

Let me walk you through what's new.

10% Commission (Yes, Really)

We dropped our commission to 10% flat across the board. No tiers, no hidden fees, no "but only if you do X transactions" nonsense. You keep 90% of what you earn. Period.

Why? Because we ran the numbers and realized we could. Lumo works when you work, and nickel-and-diming people who are out here grinding didn't sit right with us. We'd rather have a thousand people making real money than a hundred people subsidizing our margins.

Escrow Just Got Smarter

Payment protection is table stakes now, but waiting 3–5 days for funds to clear? That's a tax on your time. We built 24-hour auto-release escrow that holds payment when a gig is accepted and auto-releases it to you 24 hours after delivery—unless there's a dispute.

You still get protection. The customer still gets peace of mind. But you're not waiting around for someone to manually click "approve" four days later. It just works.

Same-Day Delivery from Anyone

This one's been requested since day one. You can now offer same-day delivery from any retailer, restaurant, or even your own products. Grab an order from the local bakery, pick up a birthday gift across town, deliver your homemade candles—whatever.

We're not trying to compete with the big guys on their terms. We're trying to make local commerce fast and flexible for people who know their neighborhoods better than any algorithm ever will.

Stripe Payouts Go Live

Your money, your bank account, no intermediaries. We integrated Stripe-powered payouts, so funds hit your account directly—no waiting for Lumo to "process" anything. Once escrow releases, Stripe does its thing, and you've got cash in hand.

We know trust is earned, not given. This was a big step toward proving we're not a black box.

Real Estate and Autos Are Here

We quietly launched real estate and autos marketplaces mid-month. List your apartment, your couch-surfing spare room, your car, your lawnmower—whatever has value in your local economy.

We're not trying to replace Zillow or Craigslist overnight. But we are trying to build a single place where local commerce actually feels local. Where the person renting your room or buying your truck is someone you might run into at the coffee shop next week.

AI Ad Studio (Because Not Everyone's a Designer)

Look, not everyone has Canva skills or wants to spend an hour making a listing pop. So we built an AI-powered ad studio that generates product photos, writes descriptions, and formats everything so your gig or item actually gets noticed.

You upload a rough photo, tell it what you're selling, and it handles the rest. It's not perfect, but it's fast, and it works.

What's Next

We're not popping champagne yet. There are bugs to squash, features to refine, and a long list of "wouldn't it be cool if…" ideas we're chipping away at. But we're learning fast, and we're building in public.

If you've been on the fence about listing a gig, posting an item, or trying same-day delivery, this is a pretty good time to jump in. The platform's getting better every week, and the early folks are shaping what comes next.

As always, if something's broken or confusing, hit us up. We actually read every message.
