Accra: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid
The Job Search Struggle Is Real
Anyone looking for work in Accra right now knows how hard it's become. You send out applications, hear nothing back, or find yourself stuck in positions that pay far less than your time and effort are worth. Meanwhile, you already have skills that people need every single day—driving through traffic from Osu to Tema Station, keeping things clean and organized, caring for animals, solving problems. The issue isn't what you can do. It's finding a way to get paid fairly for it.
That's exactly what Lumo is built for. We're a marketplace connecting independent contractors with local customers who need help with everyday jobs. You choose the work that fits your life, set your own hours, and keep 90% of what you earn. No waiting weeks for a paycheck—you get paid the same day you complete a job.
Three Ways to Start Earning
Lumo is currently looking for 300 contractors across Accra, and we're offering a loyalty bonus of 1,169 GHS (about $100 USD) once you complete your first 100 jobs. Here's the kind of work available:
- Delivery: Transport food, groceries, and packages across the city by car, bike, or scooter. You decide which delivery requests to accept based on distance and timing.
- Mobile car detailing: Wash and detail vehicles right in customers' driveways—from Cantonments to Madina. Bring your supplies and your standards; customers come to you through the app.
- Pet care: Dog walking, pet sitting, and drop-in visits for Accra's pet owners who need reliable help while they're at work or traveling.
Every job type lets you accept only the requests that work for you. No one assigns you shifts or tells you where to be.
You Decide What Your Time Is Worth
You're not looking for charity—you're looking for fair pay and respect for what you bring. On Lumo, the work comes to you, you keep almost all of what you earn, and you finally get compensated for the skills you've always had.
