Almaty: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid

The Job Search Doesn't Have to Be This Hard

If you've been looking for work in Almaty lately, you already know how frustrating it is. Applications go unanswered, interviews lead nowhere, and when you do find something, the pay rarely matches the effort. Meanwhile, you have skills that people need every single day—you can drive reliably through our city's traffic, you know how to put furniture together without leftover screws, you can get a package across town on time.

Those abilities are worth real money. The problem isn't you. It's that finding the right opportunities has been unnecessarily complicated.

Lumo is changing that. We're a marketplace connecting independent contractors with neighbors who need help with everyday jobs. You choose the work that fits your life, set your own hours, and keep 90% of what you earn. No uniforms, no managers looking over your shoulder, no waiting two weeks to see your money—you get paid the same day you complete the work.

Three Ways to Start Earning in Almaty

Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter If you have reliable transportation and know Almaty's streets, delivery work lets you earn on your own schedule. You choose which delivery jobs to accept based on distance, timing, and pay. Whether you're covering the downtown core or making runs to residential areas, each job is yours to evaluate before you commit.

Furniture assembly: putting together beds, desks, shelves and flat-pack furniture Good with tools and instructions? Furniture assembly pays well because most people would rather hire someone who knows what they're doing than spend hours puzzling over diagrams. You pick the jobs that work for you—whether that's helping a young family set up a nursery or assembling office furniture for a small business.

Rides: driving neighbors to work, appointments and the airport Almaty's size means people need reliable rides—to work, medical appointments, or to catch a flight. If you have a clean car and enjoy driving, giving rides lets you earn while helping neighbors get where they need to go. You decide which ride requests to accept based on your availability and the route.
