Budapest: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid

The Job Market Is Tough—But Your Skills Already Matter

If you've been searching for work in Budapest lately, you know how frustrating it's become. Whether you live in Pest's city center, out in Zugló, or across the river in Buda, the same story plays out: too many applications, too few responses, and jobs that don't pay what your time and effort are actually worth.

Here's what often gets overlooked: you already have skills that people need right now. You don't need another certificate or a perfect CV. If you can drive across town, clean an apartment properly, or take care of someone's dog, you can start earning today.

Lumo is a local jobs marketplace where Budapest residents like you do the work neighbors actually need—and get paid fairly for it. You choose the jobs, set your own hours, and keep 90% of what you earn. You get paid the same day, every time.

The Work That's Open Right Now

Lumo is currently looking for 300 independent contractors across Budapest. Here's the kind of work available:

• Delivery: Transport food, groceries, and packages across the city by car, bike, or scooter—perfect if you know the streets and want flexible hours
• Home cleaning: Clean apartments, houses, and move-out spaces—ideal if you're thorough and take pride in a job well done
• Pet care: Walk dogs, pet-sit, or drop in for feeding and care visits—great for animal lovers with reliable schedules

You decide which jobs to accept. Every one of them is posted by a real person in Budapest who needs help.

You Keep What You Earn (And There's a Bonus)

On Lumo, you're not working for tips or waiting for algorithms to be kind. You keep 90% of every job, and you're paid the same day.

Right now, Lumo is also offering a 32,619 HUF loyalty bonus (about $100 USD) after you complete your first 100 jobs. It's our way of rewarding people who show up and do the work.
