Durban: Your Skills Are Worth Real Money – Earn on Your Schedule with Lumo

Finding Fair Pay Shouldn't Be This Hard

If you live in Durban, you know how tough the job market has been. Too many people with real skills—drivers who know every shortcut from the Berea to Umlazi, handymen who've been fixing things since they were kids, anyone who's helped a neighbour out of a jam—are being underpaid or struggling to find steady work at all. The truth is, the skills you already have are worth real money. You shouldn't have to settle for less.

Lumo is building a marketplace where people across eThekwini can find local help fast, and we're recruiting 300 independent contractors right now to be ready when jobs start coming in. You set your own hours, choose which jobs to accept, keep 90% of what you earn, and get paid the same day. No boss, no fixed schedule—just fair pay for good work.

Three Ways to Earn on Lumo

Here's the kind of work available, and you decide what suits you:

• Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter – If you've got wheels and know Durban's roads, you can pick up delivery jobs when it fits your day. Accept the ones you want, skip the rest.
• Handyman repairs: mounting TVs, fixing doors, patching walls and small repairs – Got a toolbox and the know-how? Neighbours need help with everyday fixes, and you set the terms.
• Roadside assistance: jump-starts, flat-tire changes, lockouts and fuel drop-offs – If you're good in a pinch and don't mind helping stranded drivers, this work pays well and you choose when you're available.

A Bonus That Rewards You for Showing Up
