Kolkata: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid

The Job Search Doesn't Have to Be This Hard

If you're in Kolkata right now looking for work, you already know how tough it is. Applications go unanswered. Interviews lead nowhere. And when you do find something, the pay rarely matches the effort you're putting in.

But here's what most people miss: the skills you use every day—getting around the city, fixing things around the house, keeping a garden tidy—are worth real money right now. You don't need another certificate or a reference from someone you've never met. You just need a way to connect with neighbors who need help.

That's what Lumo does. We're building a marketplace where people in Kolkata post local jobs, and independent contractors like you choose which ones to accept. You set your hours, you keep 90% of what you earn, and you get paid the same day. No waiting for approval. No boss deciding what your time is worth.

Three Types of Work You Can Start Right Away

Lumo is recruiting 300 contractors across Kolkata right now. Here's the kind of work that's opening up:

• Delivery: Moving food, groceries, and packages across town by car, bike, or scooter. If you know the streets and have reliable transport, you're already qualified. You choose which deliveries to take based on distance and timing.

• Handyman repairs: Mounting TVs, fixing doors, patching walls, and handling small repairs. Neighbors need help with the everyday fixes that pile up. If you're handy with tools and have done this kind of work before, you decide which jobs suit your skills.

• Yard work: Mowing, raking, hedge trimming, and garden clean-ups. Plenty of homes and complexes need regular outdoor maintenance. You pick the jobs that fit your schedule and the areas you want to work in.

Earn What Your Labor Is Actually Worth

You're not looking for charity. You're looking for fair pay and respect for the work you do. On Lumo, you see the job and the payment upfront before you accept anything. You're in control.

Right now, the first 100 contractors who complete 100 jobs earn a loyalty bonus of 9,500 INR (about $100 USD). It's our way of recognizing the people who help build this marketplace from the beginning.

Your skills have value. It's time someone paid you properly for them. Apply on Lumo today and start earning on your terms.
