Los Angeles: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid

The Job Search Doesn't Have to Be This Frustrating

If you've been looking for work in Los Angeles lately, you already know how exhausting it is. Endless applications, low offers, inflexible schedules—and all while rent in neighborhoods from Hollywood to Koreatown keeps climbing. Here's what most job listings won't tell you: the skills you already have are worth real money, right now.

Whether you know your way around Silver Lake and DTLA, can fix a door hinge, or simply have a reliable car, those abilities can start earning today. Lumo is a marketplace that connects independent contractors with neighbors who need help—and pays you fairly for it.

Three Types of Work, Your Choice

When you sign up with Lumo, you decide which jobs to accept. Here's what's available:

• Delivery: Transport food, groceries, and packages across LA by car, bike, or scooter. Perfect if you know the quickest routes and want flexibility between gigs.
• Laundry pickup: Collect laundry from busy neighbors, wash and fold it, then return it. Ideal if you're detail-oriented and prefer straightforward, repeatable tasks.
• Handyman repairs: Mount TVs, fix doors, patch walls, and handle small home repairs. Great for anyone with basic tools and practical skills.

You're not locked into one type. Accept the jobs that fit your day.

Keep What You Earn

Lumo takes a different approach. You keep 90% of every job, get paid the same day, and set your own hours. No commuting to Venice for a shift someone else built. No waiting two weeks for a paycheck. And right now, complete your first 100 jobs and you'll earn a $100 USD loyalty bonus.

Los Angeles is full of people who need help and neighbors ready to do good work. If you're one of them, it's time to earn what your labor is actually worth.
