Mombasa: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid
The Job Search Struggle Is Real
Anyone looking for work in Mombasa right now knows how frustrating it can be. You send applications, wait for callbacks, and too often the pay doesn't match the effort or skill required. Meanwhile, you already have abilities that people need every single day: you know the roads from Nyali to Likoni, you can navigate Old Town traffic, you're good with your hands, and you know how to help people solve problems.
Those skills are worth real money. The challenge has always been finding a way to put them to work on your terms.
Three Ways to Start Earning on Lumo
Lumo is recruiting 300 independent contractors in Mombasa right now. You choose which jobs to accept, set your own hours, and keep 90% of what you earn. Here's the kind of work available:
- Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter – Mombasa residents and businesses need reliable people to move things from point A to point B. If you have a vehicle and know your way around, you decide which delivery jobs fit your route and schedule.
- Mobile car detailing: washing and detailing cars right in the customer's driveway – Many car owners want their vehicles cleaned but don't have time to visit a wash bay. You bring the service to them, work at your own pace, and build a base of repeat customers who value quality work.
- Roadside assistance: jump-starts, flat-tire changes, lockouts and fuel drop-offs – Drivers get stranded every day on Mombasa's roads. If you're handy with basic car trouble and can respond quickly, this work suits someone who likes solving immediate problems and helping people in a pinch.
You Get Paid What You're Worth
Every job shows the pay upfront. You keep 90% of it, and Lumo pays you the same day you complete the work. No waiting weeks for a paycheck. Plus, complete your first 100 jobs and you'll earn a loyalty bonus of 12,979 KES (about $100 USD).
You're not looking for a handout. You're looking for fair pay for real work. Lumo connects you with customers in Mombasa who need what you can do.
