Montreal: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid

The Job Market Shouldn't Be This Hard

If you've been searching for work in Montréal lately, you know how frustrating it is. Applications disappear into the void. Interviews lead nowhere. And when you do find something, the pay rarely matches the effort.

But here's what many people don't realize: the skills you already have are valuable right now, today. You don't need another certificate or six months of experience. You just need a way to connect with people who need help—and who'll pay you fairly for it.

That's what Lumo does. We're building a marketplace where Montrealers hire local contractors for everyday jobs, and where you keep 90% of what you earn. You set your hours, choose which jobs to accept, and get paid the same day.

Three Ways to Start Earning

Lumo is currently bringing on 300 contractors across Montreal. Here's the kind of work available:

• Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter – If you've got reliable wheels and know your way around the Plateau, Griffintown, or NDG, you can start taking delivery jobs. Accept the ones that work for your route and schedule.

• Tech help: setting up Wi-Fi, TVs, printers and phones – Plenty of neighbors need someone patient to get their devices working. If you're the person your family calls when the internet goes down, this work suits you.

• Laundry pickup: collect, wash, fold and return laundry for busy neighbors – It's simple, steady work for people who are thorough and dependable. Pick up, launder, and drop off on your own time.

You're not locked into one type. Try what fits your skills and your life.

You Decide What Your Time Is Worth

On Lumo, you're not an employee grinding for minimum wage. You're a contractor. That means you control your schedule, you see what each job pays before you accept it, and you keep 90% of every dollar you earn.

Plus, right now Lumo is offering a 141 CAD loyalty bonus (about $100 USD) after you complete your first 100 jobs. It's a thank-you for helping build the marketplace here in Montreal.

The platform is opening up as customers begin posting jobs. If you've been looking for a way to earn that actually respects your time and skills, this is it.
