Nairobi: Turn Your Everyday Skills Into Real Income on Your Own Time
Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid
Finding decent work in Nairobi right now feels like a full-time job itself. Too many people with real skills—people who know how to drive safely through traffic, clean a home properly, or fix everyday problems—are undervalued and underpaid. If you can navigate from Westlands to South C without getting lost, deep-clean a kitchen until it shines, or mount a TV so it stays put, those abilities are worth real money. You shouldn't have to settle for less.
Lumo is a marketplace connecting independent contractors with people who need local help. You choose when you work, which jobs you accept, and you keep 90% of every shilling you earn. No boss setting your schedule. No waiting weeks for your pay. You get paid the same day, every time.
Three Ways to Earn on Lumo
Lumo is recruiting 300 contractors across Nairobi right now. Here's the work available:
- Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter – Pick up and drop off around the city. Perfect if you know the roads and have reliable transport. You see the delivery details before you accept, so you decide if it works for you.
- Home cleaning: apartments, homes and move-out cleans – Thorough cleaning work for busy households and people moving. If you take pride in leaving a space spotless, this is straightforward income on your terms.
- Handyman repairs: mounting TVs, fixing doors, patching walls and small repairs – Small jobs that don't need a full construction crew but do need someone handy and reliable. You choose which repairs match your skills.
Earn What Your Work Is Actually Worth
Jobs open as customers in Nairobi post them. The more contractors ready to work, the faster everyone benefits. As a welcome, Lumo is offering a 12,977 KES (about $100 USD) loyalty bonus after you complete your first 100 jobs. You set your own hours, work close to home when you want, and finally get paid fairly for what you can do.
