Nairobi: Get Paid What You're Worth, Same Day You Work
Finding Fair Work Shouldn't Be This Hard
If you live in Nairobi, you already know: finding work that pays what you're actually worth is a struggle. Too many jobs demand your time but undervalue your effort. Whether you're navigating traffic from Westlands to the CBD, juggling commitments in Kilimani, or getting things done in Eastleigh, you have skills that people need right now—and those skills deserve fair pay.
Lumo is a marketplace connecting independent contractors with neighbours who need help. We're recruiting 300 people across Nairobi to take on local jobs when they're ready. You choose which jobs to accept, set your own schedule, keep 90% of every payment, and get paid the same day you complete the work. No waiting weeks for a paycheck. No wondering if you'll be valued. Just fair pay for real work.
Three Types of Work, All on Your Terms
Here's what's available on Lumo:
- Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter – If you have a vehicle and know Nairobi's roads, you can accept delivery jobs that fit your route and schedule. Every job shows the pay upfront, and you decide whether to take it.
- Handyman repairs: mounting TVs, fixing doors, patching walls and small repairs – If you're good with tools and solving household problems, there's steady demand for small repairs. People need help they can trust, and you set the terms.
- Errands: pharmacy runs, returns, waiting in line and shopping trips – Sometimes neighbours just need an extra pair of hands. If you're organized and reliable, errand jobs let you earn while helping your community.
You Earn What Your Labor Is Worth
Every job shows the payment before you accept. You keep 90% of what the customer pays. And crucially, you're paid the same day you finish the work—money in your account when you need it, not when someone else decides.
Complete your first 100 jobs and you'll earn a loyalty bonus of 12,981 KES (about $100 USD).
Lumo respects your time, your skill, and your hustle. If you're ready to work on your terms and get paid what you deserve, apply on Lumo today.
