Nairobi: Turn Your Everyday Skills Into Real Income on Your Own Schedule

The Skills You Have Are Worth More Than You're Getting Paid

Finding decent work in Nairobi right now feels like a constant struggle. Too many jobs demand your entire day but barely cover rent and transport. If you can drive across town, repair what's broken, or clean a home properly, those skills have real value—and you deserve to be paid what they're actually worth.

Lumo is a new marketplace connecting independent contractors with people who need help right here in Nairobi. Whether you live in Westlands, Eastleigh, Kilimani, or anywhere across the city, you can sign up now, choose the jobs that fit your schedule, and finally keep most of what you earn.

Three Ways to Earn on Lumo

Lumo is recruiting 300 contractors across Nairobi. Here's the kind of work available:

Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter If you have reliable transport and know your way around Nairobi's routes, delivery work lets you earn on every trip. You decide which deliveries to accept based on distance, pay, and your schedule.

Handyman repairs: mounting TVs, fixing doors, patching walls and small repairs Good with tools? Neighbors and businesses always need help with small repairs that don't require a full contractor. You choose the jobs that match your skills and availability.

Home cleaning: apartments, homes and move-out cleans If you're thorough and take pride in a job well done, cleaning work offers steady opportunities. You pick the homes and times that work for you.

You Keep 90%, Get Paid the Same Day, and Set Your Own Hours

On Lumo, you're not an employee—you're an independent contractor. That means:

• You keep 90% of every job you complete
• You get paid the same day, directly to your mobile money
• You choose which jobs to accept and when to work
• You control your schedule around your life, not the other way around

As a welcome, Lumo is offering a loyalty bonus of 12,990 KES (about $100 USD) after you complete your first 100 jobs. It's a meaningful thank-you for quality work.

Nairobi Needs the Skills You Already Have
