Phnom Penh: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid

Finding Fair Work in Phnom Penh Is Harder Than It Should Be

Too many people in Phnom Penh are working hard but not seeing fair pay for their effort. Whether you're navigating traffic from Toul Tom Poung to Daun Penh, or helping neighbors in BKK1 with everyday tasks, the skills you already have—driving, fixing things, assembling furniture—are worth real money. The problem isn't your ability. It's finding work that actually pays you what you deserve.

Lumo is a new marketplace connecting independent contractors with local jobs across the city. You choose the work that fits your schedule, keep 90% of what you earn, and get paid the same day you complete the job. No waiting weeks for your money. No unfair cuts that leave you with barely enough.

Three Types of Work You Can Start Doing Now

Lumo is currently recruiting 300 contractors in Phnom Penh. Here's the kind of work available:

• Delivery: Transport food, groceries, and packages across town by car, bike, or scooter. Perfect if you know the streets and have reliable transportation. You see each delivery request and choose which ones to accept.
• Furniture assembly: Put together beds, desks, shelves, and flat-pack furniture for busy families and offices. If you're good with tools and instructions, this work suits you. Accept the jobs you want, skip the ones you don't.
• Handyman repairs: Mount TVs, fix doors, patch walls, and handle small repairs around homes and businesses. Your practical skills are in demand, and you decide which repair jobs match your expertise.

Earn What You're Worth, Starting With a Loyalty Bonus

Every job you complete pays you 90% of the customer's payment, deposited the same day. After you finish your first 100 jobs on Lumo, you'll receive a loyalty bonus of 406,003 KHR (about $100 USD). That's on top of what you've already earned from those jobs.

Your time and skills have real value. Lumo makes sure you're paid fairly for both.
