Pietermaritzburg: Turn What You Already Know Into Real Income on Lumo

Finding Fair Work Is Hard Right Now

If you live in Pietermaritzburg, you already know: steady work that respects your time and pays what you're worth is harder to find than it should be. Too many people with real skills—driving safely, changing a tire, assembling furniture—are either underemployed or stuck in jobs that don't value what they bring.

Lumo is changing that. We're a marketplace where you use the skills you already have to do local jobs on your own schedule. You choose which jobs to accept, you keep 90% of what you earn, and you get paid the same day. No waiting, no surprises—just fair pay for real work.

Three Ways to Earn Right Now

Lumo is recruiting 300 independent contractors in Pietermaritzburg. Here's the kind of work available:

• Delivery: food, groceries and packages across town by car, bike or scooter – If you can navigate the city and get things from point A to point B safely, this work suits you. You accept the deliveries that fit your day, whether that's mornings in town or afternoons across the suburbs.

• Roadside assistance: jump-starts, flat-tire changes, lockouts and fuel drop-offs – This is for people who know their way around a car and can help someone out of a jam. You choose which calls to take, bring basic tools, and earn well for short jobs that make a real difference.

• Furniture assembly: putting together beds, desks, shelves and flat-pack furniture – If you've ever put together a bookshelf or desk and actually enjoyed it, this is your lane. Customers need help, you bring the patience and the tools, and you earn on your terms.
