Toronto: Your Skills Are Worth More Than You're Being Paid
Finding Work Shouldn't Be This Hard
If you've been searching for work in Toronto lately, you know how frustrating it's become. Endless applications, jobs that want years of experience for entry-level pay, interviews that go nowhere. Meanwhile, rent doesn't wait, and neither do your bills.
Here's what most job listings won't tell you: the skills you already have are valuable right now. You don't need another certificate or a perfect resume. If you can drive, run errands, or help someone with a dead battery, you can start earning today.
Lumo is a marketplace connecting independent contractors with people across Toronto who need real help with everyday tasks. You choose the jobs you want, set your own hours, and keep 90% of what you earn. No boss, no schedule someone else made for you, and you get paid the same day you work.
Three Ways to Start Earning
Lumo is currently looking for 300 contractors across Toronto. Here's the kind of work available:
- Delivery: Move food, groceries, and packages across the city by car, bike, or scooter. You decide which deliveries to accept based on distance and pay.
- Errands: Handle pharmacy runs, returns, shopping trips, and waiting in line for people who can't. Perfect if you know the city well and don't mind being out and about.
- Roadside Assistance: Jump-start dead batteries, change flat tires, help with lockouts, and deliver emergency fuel. Great for anyone handy who wants fewer but higher-paying jobs.
Every job is something you choose. If it doesn't work for your day, you pass.
You Decide What Your Time Is Worth
Toronto workers know what it's like to spend half your paycheck on transit or gas just to get to a job that undervalues you. On Lumo, you work in your own neighbourhood—whether that's North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, or downtown—and you keep almost everything you earn.
Right now, the first 100 contractors who complete 100 jobs earn a 140 CAD loyalty bonus (about $100 USD). That's on top of what you're already making.
You've got the skills. The jobs are there. You just need to sign up.
